Ralph Boschung will continue to drive for Campos Racing in the 2022 FIA Formula 2 season following their successful year together.
The Swiss racer re-joined the proven Spanish outfit for the 2021 campaign, during which he has fought for podiums and pole positions in the first six out of eight rounds of Formula 1’s main feeder series. Two meetings remain at a new venue in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (3-5 December) and Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi (10-12 December).
Raphaëlle Lota will continue to support Ralph, as she has done since the end of 2020 with her Geneva-based companies Casa Andrea and jewellers L by Raphaëlle.
Formula 2 welcomes back Spielberg, Budapest, Barcelona and Spa-Francorchamps to the calendar next season, in addition to two new venues in the form of Imola and Zandvoort. A new two-race format will also be used, with one reverse grid Sprint Race onSaturday (down from two in 2021) and a Feature Race on Sunday.
Ralph Boschung: “I’m very grateful to Campos Racing for the opportunity to continue with them for the 2022 FIA Formula 2 season. I believe in continuity and loyalty and these are two strong assets we have as a team. I want to thank Adrian Campos Jr. and the whole Campos team for what has been a great season so far and my partners Casa Andrea and L by Raphaëlle as this would not have been possible without them. 2021 has been my first season with full backing, so I look forward to building on this momentum next year.”
Adrian Campos Jr: “We’re extremely happy to have Ralph with us for another season. We received a hard hit at the beginning of this year following the passing of my father, since then the team has worked harder than ever and we have never been more united. For next season, we want to continue our upward trend in terms of results. I want to personally thank Ralph and the team of people supporting him for placing their trust in Campos Racing for another year.”
