Ralph Boschung takes Formula 2 championship lead in Jeddah

Ralph Boschung continued his strong start to the 2023 FIA Formula 2 season and now leads the championship after a solid result in the Sprint Race at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

The Swiss driver showed good pace in Saudi Arabia and was in contention for a place on the podium in the reverse-grid event, before eventually crossing the line fourth, re-taking the lead of the championship.

The result also meant that Campos Racing remains at the head of the Teams’ championship, with both Ralph and his teammate Kush Maini scoring points on the coast of the Red Sea.

FIA Formula 2 returns on March 30 - April 2 in Melbourne, for the series’ inaugural trip to Australia.

Ralph Boschung: “It’s an amazing feeling to be leading the FIA Formula 2 standings, the competition is very strong and I think it shows what a good job Campos Racing and I have done so far. The weekend itself wasn’t perfect and I wasn’t as competitive in qualifying as I’d have liked, but we competed hard in the Sprint Race and had some great battles out on track. Looking forward to discovering a new track in Melbourne and hopefully getting back on the podium!”
