Ralph Boschung F2 Blog: France

Motor racing and France just seem to go together. It has a rich history in the sport and even hosted the first ever Grand Prix. I love driving French circuits, but we unfortunately struggled to turn that into results this weekend.

My Trident team and I were looking solid during practice. We set the ninth best time and it was looking like we would go back to being top 10 regulars in qualifying after our issues in Monaco. I was on a good lap at the end of the session when we had a mechanical failure and had to pull over.

It’s no secret I was frustrated by having another problem for the second race in a row and being left 13th on the grid.

Things got worse in the Feature Race as I didn’t even get half a lap in before getting caught up in the start melee. So from the back of the grid for the Sprint Race there wasn’t much more that could do beyond 15th.

All in all, a bit of a weekend to forget but I know that we can do better.
